Jimmecha Carr

Jimmecha Carr is A Twenty- Two-year-old thespian that was born and raised in Albany, Georgia. Jimmecha discovered her passion and love for the arts at a very young age.  Jimmecha was very active in theatre conferences and competitions in her earlier years. She competed in many theatre and oratory competitions, including Governor’s Honor and NAACP Act- So National Competition in 2015. She attended Andrew College and received her associates in Mass Communication. Through her first two years in college, Jimmecha was a part of several productions both on and off the stage. These productions included The Good Doctor, The Diviners, and Murder Mystery on the Square.   Jimmecha will be a graduate from Valdosta State University in December 2020 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interpersonal Communication. Jimmecha has been working with the Sounds of Joy theatre department since the summer of 2016 and has enjoyed being the theatre instructor.  In her free time, she works behind the stage for Valdosta State’s theatre department. Jimmecha also travels and performs monologues for different organizations and conferences. Jimmecha’s favorite quote is by Martin Luther King “Faith is to take the first step without seeing the entire staircase.”  “The arts will always have a special place in my heart. A person’s life can be changed through a monologue, song, or dance. That is why I’ve always had a passion for the arts. The arts uplift and inspire,” says Jimmecha.
